Deep Week Dahab, Egypt
What is Deep Week?
Deep Week is a one-of-a-kind experience! There is no other event like this!
It is the world's premier Freediving Education Event and the worlds largest freediving festival.
Deep Week brings the best freedivers, freediving instructors and experts from all over the world, to one spectacular place.
A whole week where we can share knowledge and improve our diving.
This will be our second Deep Week in Mexico. We learnt a lot the first time we went and now we know how to make it even better!
Diving In The Mecca Of Freediving
We’re heading to one of the most iconic freediving destinations in the world: Dahab, Egypt. Nestled between the mountains of the Sinai Desert and the turquoise waters of the Red Sea, Dahab is home to the legendary Blue Hole and the beautiful reef walls of Lighthouse Bay—two of the most sought-after dive sites for freedivers globally.
The Blue Hole is 130m deep and is where most of modern freediving athletes have spent at least a bit of time training. Its protected walls, nearly limitless depth and crystal clear water make it one of the best locations in the world to simulate competition conditions and, as such, a beautiful freediving community has long called Dahab home.
When you get tired of diving on the line, the walls of the blue hole are home to absolutely stunning coral reefs and fish life. You can explore within the blue hole itself but its far less crowded to go over “The Saddle” out into the sea and swim along the outer walls where you can also find El Bells, which is an arch that sits at about 26m deep after a beautiful dive down an open chimney along the coral wall.
We are going to split our time between diving in the Blue Hole (which includes a moderate drive out of town) and Lighthouse, which is within walking distance of where we will be staying for Deep Week! We can easily find 40m of depth not too far from shore where we can do more of our focused training diving before heading to the Blue Hole to apply our learning to practice!
Having been to Dahab to train before, we know how incredible of a dive location it is. When we aren’t diving, the Sinai Desert is one of the most beautiful places in the world. We have the opportunity to go to saunas and bonfires in the desert, incredible coral reef dives, and also some pretty awesome adventures into the mountains, which we plan to do during the rest days.
We are really excited to be going to Dahab this year and, based on the conversations we have been having around this event so far casually during other Deep Weeks, we know that you all are incredibly excited as well! We can’t wait to see you there!

The Workshops
Each Deep Week is different and offers interesting and unique workshops but there are always a few classics as well. Adam, along with our other guest instructors, will be leading a variety of interesting and fun workshops every day and be open to questions. They are a great opportunity to learn from some of the best divers and freediving educators in the world and one of the things that makes Deep Week such an amazing and unique experience.
If you arent feeling any of the workshops on the day, we can arrange some fun diving in one of the many cenotes or help sort something else out for you!
We will have a full list of workshops and Cenotes for you, so come prepared to dive and learn your heart out!

The Activities
Deep Week has a packed schedule if you want to follow it to the letter! We dive every day (except for rest day on Wednesday), pool sessions, freediving theory sessions and workshops, all of which will ensure you cover all of your course requirements, if you decide you want a freediving certification.
We also offer sunrise yoga and meditation sessions each day and have family dinners where we all get together and eat, enjoy each others company and talk about freediving (duh!)
We love springing surprises on our Deep Weekers during the week. From creating underwater obstacle courses for you all, arranging pedicures during workshops to turning up to dive sessions with costumes. We genuinely aim to have as much fun as possible. The more fun you have, the better you dive!

Staying in Dahab
We are going to be hosting Deep Week at Hotel Real Hispano in downtown Valladolid this year! We wanted to get closer to all of the action with amazing food, awesome shops and more awesome food and we will absolutely get that this year! We recommend that you arrive no later than May 16th in the afternoon (so you don’t miss the welcome) and depart no earlier than May 25th (so that you don’t miss out on the afterparty taking place the night of May 24th) All event activities (workshops, welcome, yoga, meditation and departing for the cenotes) will all happen at Hotel Real Hispano and many find it one less thing to think about if you are booked there during the week.
They have offered us a reduced rate on accommodations during the week on double rooms, which is awesome! They are typically 1,850mxn per night but they are giving them to us for 1,450mxn per night. In order to get this reduced rate, we need to send them an email to reservaciones.realhispano@gmail.com or by contacting the booking manager Celeste on her WhatsApp number here: +52 985 257 5696
Once you contact them, they will let you know what their availability is and you can decide if you want breakfast included, what kind of room you like, etc. and they will send you payment details!
You are absolutely able to share rooms if you like and many Deep Weekers enjoy bunking up! Once you are signed up for Deep Week, you will be added to a chat group where you can find a bunk buddy if thats your vibe!
To get to Valladolid, you can fly into either Cancún International Airport (CUN) or Merida International Airport (MID.) There are unfortunately no direct flights into Valladolid. From there, you can either rent a car or catch a bus to the bus station in Valladolid and then get a taxi from there. There is also a train that you can get that is a short taxi ride from Cancún Airport.
Just remember that your hotel is your contact for your accommodation. We do not book accommodations for you!
