Freediving Pool Training
Life is better underwater
So, you finished your Freediving Course or just came back from a Deep Week and you’re thinking, “now what?”
You can’t wait to get wet again, to do what you love the most… yes, we are talking about freediving!
But we don’t need to be in the ocean to get all the benefits and joys of freediving. Pool Training is fun! And the most substantial improvements in a person’s diving take place in the pool.
In Sydney, we meet twice per week. Once in the Eastern Suburbs and once in the Northern Beaches.
In Melbourne, once a week.
We get together, have fun, hold our breath and seriously improve our diving!
Pool Training is for you if…
You want to improve your breath hold
You want to improve your technique in any discipline
You want to improve your overall comfort underwater
You want to train before a trip to be able to fully experience the diving there
You want to train for a competition
You want to practice your skills at a friendly, safe and supportive environment
How can Freediving Pool Training help you improve your breath hold ability?
Training in the pool is the best way to improve your breath holding capacity, improve your skills and become a better freediver. Of course if you just keep diving and playing around in the ocean you will get better but if you want targeted training. If you want to make substantial improvements while having a fun, relaxed time then the pool is the place to be.
In the pool we simply have the ability hold our breath more than when we’re in the ocean. More reps and higher intensity. Because in the controlled environment of the pool you’re in the right place to swim further or hold your breath longer. And all the while under the safe environment and guidance of our freediving instructors.
Like everything with Freediving Family, all breath holds and all breath hold training is kept at the intensity where it feels good! We never hold our breath to the point of discomfort and that is what actually makes a better freediver. Comfortable breath holds lead to greater improvement in the long run.
The training program that we run is written every month by Australian Freediving Champion, Adam Stern. It is based on his own training techniques which allowed him to dive over 100 metres with absolute ease and comfort.
